Description of game:

The first quarter started strong from Lincoln Castle, moving down the court swiftly. They had an attempt on goal, however the rebound was caught by Sophie to then allow TGA to attack. The ball was turned over again, for Castle to score their first goal. The girls were quick onside, with Ellie taking a very good centre with support from the centre court players. TGA was able to get the ball into the D but their shot was marked well so unsuccessful. It went back and forth for a while, with excellent defence from both teams. Castle were then able to score another goal, so when the whistle blew at quarter time Castle was up 2-0.

Quarter time saw some changes, with Faye coming on into Goal Keeper, Comfort as Wing Attack, Erin at Goal Attack and Marshella as Goal Shooter. The girls were very positive about the game, and a quick centre  was taken by Ellie to start. TGA were strong again in defence, with Faye and Carla working well together stopping the ball from entering the circle and if it did, catching rebounds. Ellie was working extremely hard as Centre offering a lot of support around the court. The girls created lots of chances, with a successful goal being scored for TGA by Erin! The girls were back to centre quickly, defending well and not allowing any goals to be scored by Castle at all in the second quarter, bringing the score to 2-1.

The third quarter also saw changes, with Erin coming on at Goal Defence, Jade moved to Wing Defence, Paris and Ellie switched Wing Attack and Centre, Marshella moved to Goal Attack and Isla to Goal shooter. Castle had also made some strong changes, dominating the third quarter. They were quick to score two goals in succession, with TGA defending. They were able to get the ball into their D but were unsuccessful. Castle were then able to score a third, with the score of 6 – 1 heading into the final quarter.

Only a one change was made in the final quarter with Comfort coming on at Wing Defence. The girls were very positive in the last quarter, determined to do well and had a good start. They were strong defending, with Paris supporting at Centre throughout the full court. The attack were able to get the ball into the D and Marshella scored! Quickly back, and again strong from TGA. There were a couple of unsuccessful shots, with Castle gaining possession and they were able to score. TGA did not give up and were again able to get the ball into the D and score again….just before the final whistle went. The final quarter the girls won 2-1, showing their strength as a team to keep pushing until the end.

Final score of 7 – 3; fantastic play and well done!
